For those athletes who do not have a winter sport: Winter conditioning starts Monday, November 5 and continues through Friday, March 1. The plan is to staff the erg room M-Th 4:30-7:30, Fr 4:00-6:00, and Sa 8:00-11:00. Athletes are encouraged to come at least 4-5 days week to work out for 90 minutes inside those time frames. Winter is the BEST time to prepare for spring. Last year we saw numerous athletes knock several seconds off their erg times. Commit to yourself and commit to your teammates and work out this winter! Fees are $250 for rowers and $75 for coxswains or drop-ins (<20 sessions over the winter). Registration fees for the Midwest Erg Sprints in 2019 are not included.
Also, we could use a few more ergs for winter conditioning. Our capital budget has been primarily devoted to the water (not just the new 8’s but also new launch motors). So we are trying something new: If a family is interested in purchasing a new erg for their home, we ask that you consider purchasing a new erg but donating it to Dublin Crew for this winter, and then moving it back to your home in March.
