25 years of rowing excellence

Dublin Crew Coaches

Dublin Crew has paid coaches for its Varsity Men’s and Women’s squads as well as Novice Men’s and Women’s teams.  We are also fortunate to have the assistance of volunteer coaches.

Our Coaching Staff

Haley Wuellner, Coach Novice Mens

Haley Wuellner

Lead Varsity Coach

A well-seasoned rower for St Ursula High School Academy, Haley completed all eight seasons.  Strengthening her was a dedication and attendance to all four summer rowing camps.

Her drive and focus led to competing at Head of the Charles in Boston for 3 years and racing in the National Scholastic Championship in Saratoga, NY.   Haley along with her 7 team mates took 8th in the Nation at Saratoga.  Ohio State University was the next step for Haley. After a two year break from competition, she returned to her much-beloved sport at which time Haley joined Ohio State Club Crew and took on the active role of Safety Officer.  A variety of coaches and techniques have helped to mold the athlete Haley has become and it is the love of the sport that has brought her to coaching. It is that same drive and determination from her own rowing success that now as Coach Wuellner she wishes to inspire others towards National Championship goals.

Brendan Leonard

Lead Novice Coach

Coach Leonard is both a former rower and coach for Dublin Crew, having rowed for three years during high school while attending Dublin Jerome, and coaching for the Varsity Women during the fall 2015 season. Having completed his M.Ed at The Ohio State University with licensure to teach for high school social studies and integrated business, Coach Leonard will be teaching Marketing and Entrepreneurship this fall at Walnut Ridge High School in the Columbus City Schools District. As coach of the novice crews, Coach Leonard has the goal of establishing a firm grasp of the fundamentals and to foster a love of the sport amongst his rowers. Go DC!
